Experience vs. Knowledge

Recently I was going through the net and having a look what variations of Yoga are on the market and how people are going to this course and that course. Each course in its own right promising the participant this or that outcome.

How much time do we spend attending these courses, taking in new ideas and learning new ways in which to bring peace to our self? We want to have God realization and self realization and go about learning all these ways and stack up all this knowledge that we can recite and help others to find that elusive truth.

We need to realise that knowledge without experience is like having a book in your library but not actually having read the book and experienced what is between the covers. We need to experience what we know so we can make it our own. Everyone’s path to the remembrance of who they are is different. We are all individuals inside this unity of one. That is the beauty of this existence we can be one yet we are all individuals and it is this very reason that we need to make any knowledge our own and experience that knowledge how it works for us. But we must experience that knowledge and not just keep it as knowledge.
